Vanessa Sundin, Attorney

Vanessa Sundin, a Shasta County native, received her B.A. in English Literature and German from California State University, Chico in 2003. Vanessa received both her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Professionally, Vanessa focuses in estate planning, probate and trust administration, elder law, business law, real property law, and tax law.  Prior to attending law school, Vanessa earned her Series 7 and worked as a registered sales associate with A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc.

During her law school career, Vanessa was a Merit Scholarship recipient and a member of both the Honors Lawyering Program and the dean’s list.  She also received Cali Awards in Writing and Research II, HLP Wills and Trusts Writing Lab, and Real Estate Finance.  Vanessa also received the Honorable Mention Award for academic excellence in real estate law.  During law school, Vanessa worked as a law clerk with the National Center for Lesbian Rights, as a professor’s assistant teaching real property law, and as a research assistant in constitutional law.  During and after her LL.M. program, Vanessa worked as an associate attorney with a San Francisco based firm specializing in estate planning, probate, trust administration, elder law, and tax law.

Vanessa loves living in the East Avenues of Chico with her husband, three dogs, and cat. She is a board member and the Secretary of the North Valley Community Foundation, and volunteers with the Stonewall Alliance Center of Chico. In her spare time, you can find Vanessa reading, exercising, cooking, playing outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Traci Staggs, Paralegal

Traci Staggs, originally from Southern California, has lived in Chico since 2003 and considers the North State home.  Traci received her B.A. in accounting from California State University, Chico in 2018 and has worked with Sundin Law Office since 2014.  In addition to her extensive accounting knowledge and skills, Traci brings to Sundin Law Office strong management experience from her time in the retail and restaurant industries.

As a paralegal with Sundin Law Office, Traci is responsible for client management, document preparation, and overall office operations.  She is a valued member of the team and always has a smile to share.

In her free time, Traci loves being outdoors, playing sports, and spending time with her husband, daughter, friends, and extended family.

Jeannie Trizzino, Legal Assistant

Jeannie Trizzino, a long-time resident of Chico, is a legal assistant for Sundin Law Office.  Jeannie received her B.A. in political science from Yale University in 1985.  Jeannie's professional experience is varied, drawing from her work in the publishing field for Moon Travel Handbooks and various magazines and publications as a copy editor and then in the civil engineering and public works arena as a regional administrator and marketing assistant. As a part of the Sundin Law Office team, Jeannie enjoys applying her skills to help clients assess their needs and meet their goals. She plays a valued role in the day-to-day operations of Sundin Law Office, including document preparation and scheduling.

Jeannie has a great love of the natural history in the North State and is a Certified California Naturalist. The Chico area is a perfect place for her to go hiking, birding, and botanizing. Although originally from the Los Angeles area, Jeannie now considers Chico her adopted hometown. She enjoys public radio, podcasts, and a good long hike in Upper Bidwell Park, not necessarily in that order.
